Why?
Because his lying never is answered for.
Never.
And this man’s lies and the policies he has implemented that rely on these lies and their promulgation are largely responsible for the damage that has been done since 2007 and continues to be done to our economy – damage that cannot be excused or explained away, while allowing the banksters in this nation to continue to profit from and hide their prior and current mendacity.
The most-outrageous example from this “interview” were in the form of the charge of “printing money”, which he claimed (now) he wasn’t doing (after admitted he was a year ago.)
“We’re not printing money. The amount of currency in circulation is not changing. The money supply is not changing in any significant way.
That’s two knowing lies, and just the latest in a long string of knowing lies.
“The amount of currency in circulation is not changing.”
Is the line on the chart - The Fed’s own chart – going from the lower left to the upper right?
That’s currency, from The Fed’s own data. It is increasing. Bernanke lied.
The second part:
“The money supply is not changing in any significant way.”
Again, is the line on the chart - The Fed’s own chart – going from the lower left to the upper right? Furthermore, did it accelerate once Bernanke started threatening QE2 in July, and has it continued since?
That’s “Broad Money” (M2 Money Stock), again, The Fed’s own data, and again Bernanke lied.
(and by the way, the longer-term money stock rate - including the spike during the recession – is even worse…)
How does anyone justify allowing
Bernanke getting away with this?
How can Congress, The Executive, and the American people sit back and permit this sort of outrageous and intentional lie to stand unanswered?
We have no journalists left in this nation. If this were an actual interview the 60 Minutes “interviewer” would have hammered Bernanke with these facts right then and there.
Instead 60 Minutes - a corporate lying machine – not only allowed him to spew his lies unchallenged they intentionally ratified those lies by refusing to point them out to the audience – that is, to do their job as a referee when one attempts to intentionally mislead the public.
